WordPress Developer (Fully remote)

London 30K - 35K Permanent

My client are a dynamic digital-first business, committed to redefining the landscape of independent media businesses. Overview of the Role:

This role would be playing a key role in the development and maintenance of their digital assets across various brands working closely with the head of technology. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer with a minimum of 1 year of commercial experience or a strong portfolio showcasing code samples.

Reporting To: Head of Technology

Hours of Work: 8 hours per day (including a one-hour lunch break). Typical hours are 9:00 - 5:00, however, there is flexibility.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the development team to create and maintain WordPress websites for multiple brands within their portfolio.
  • Implement and customize themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure the website's responsiveness, performance, and overall functionality is maintained to the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance our digital presence.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a WordPress Developer or a strong portfolio of work with code samples.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and PHP.
  • Experience with creating WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

This is a fully remote role, the head of technology does visit the London office monthly and you're more than welcome to go to the office for some contact time.
