Senior Software Engineer

My client is a fast growing, well funded AI startup building voice infrastructure that is transforming how medical services communicate with patients at scale. Think millions of calls, millisecond performance requirements, and genuinely hard engineering problems.

They are a small team right now which means the engineers they hire will have an outsized impact on the product, the culture, and the direction of the company. The people joining now will be a substantial part of what this company becomes.

Responsibilities

• Writing clean, high quality, high performance, maintainable code across backend services and APIs.
• Developing and supporting new functionality and enhancements to a real time voice platform.
• Coordinating cross functionally to ensure projects meet business objectives.
• Participating in code reviews and supporting test and deployment of new features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. 6 plus years of relevant backend engineering experience.
• Strong Python fundamentals with FastAPI or Django experience preferred.
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and database design.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high energy environment and a genuine desire to help set the engineering culture.

What my client offers

Base salary $175k to $275k depending on experience, equity 0.1% to 0.6%, and the opportunity to be one of the first engineers at a company growing faster than it can hire.

Based in New York or San Francisco, 5 days a week in person.
