Senior AI Engineer

My client are hiring a Senior AI Engineer to build and ship real world agent systems powered by large language models. This role is for an engineer who enjoys experimenting with LLMs but cares most about reliability, evaluation, and production impact.

You will focus less on fine tuning and more on orchestration, tooling, and outcomes. This is a hands on role with strong product influence and ownership over how AI systems behave in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build agent workflows end to end

• Implement function and tool calling, planning, routing, and memory

• Own evaluation harnesses, monitoring, and reliability controls

• Debug latency, cost, and failure modes at scale

• Build safety, guardrails, and alerting for production agents

• Partner closely with product and design on new interaction patterns

• Document patterns and mentor engineers on LLM best practices

Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience building agentic LLM systems in production

• Comfortable wiring services and shipping APIs, not just notebooks

• Broad LLM knowledge, models, providers, prompts, and guardrails

• Product minded, data driven, focused on outcomes and iteration

• Opinionated and evidence driven, willing to go deep on unfamiliar patterns

Nice to have experience with workflow engines such as Temporal or comfort working across the full stack.

This role is based in New York City and is fully in office. US citizens or Green Card holders only.
