We have partnered with an independent Energy supplies business who are on the lookout for aRisk Manager to support driving departmental activities and achieving key business objectives by optimizing the company's energy portfolio and managing trading risks

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Energy Portfolio Management: Optimize and manage the company's energy portfolio, including trading activities, price volatility, and market liquidity.
  2. Risk Identification and Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with trading activities, ensuring proactive risk mitigation.
  3. Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with counterparties, TPIs, and other market participants.
  4. Tendering Process: Lead the tendering process for gas and electricity, providing analysis and recommendations to the team.
  5. Procurement Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and timely issue of procurement reports, integrating renewable assets and PPAs.
  6. Strategy and Analysis: Contribute to the development of new products and provide input on strategic decisions through detailed market analysis.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Analytical Background: Graduate in finance, maths, economics, science, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in trading or a related front office role.
  2. Commodity Market Expertise: In-depth understanding of energy markets, trading, and power scheduling, with experience in market analysis.
  3. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  4. Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  5. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Excel, Word, and relevant software; advanced Excel and Python skills are desirable.
  6. Adaptability: Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn and develop in a dynamic environment.
