About the role

We are looking for a skilled Python Developer to join a leading company in the financial sector based in Amsterdam. You’ll work on data-driven and business-critical applications, contributing to the development of robust, scalable systems that support financial products, risk management, and reporting.

This role suits someone who enjoys clean code, complex problem-solving, and working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and services
• Build and optimize data processing pipelines and APIs
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation
• Improve performance, reliability, and security of existing systems
• Work with large datasets and financial data sources

Requirements

• Strong experience with Python in a production environment
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and writing efficient SQL
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Understanding of software engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, version control)
• Experience working in or with financial services (banking, insurance, fintech, or trading)
• Fluent Dutch is required (spoken and written)
• Based in, or willing to work from, Amsterdam

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of data engineering or analytics workflows
• Experience with Docker and containerised applications
• Familiarity with financial regulations or compliance environments
