🔔 Principal / Lead Data Engineer

I’m working with a highly regarded data and analytics company that helps organisations turn complex data into real business value. They combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture, and they’re now looking for a Principal / Lead Data Engineer to play a key role in shaping both client solutions and internal technical direction.

This is a role for someone who enjoys operating at multiple levels: architect, hands-on engineer, mentor, and trusted advisor.

🚧 What the Lead Data Engineer will be working on:

Designing and delivering scalable cloud data platforms in Azure.

Architecting lakehouse and modern data warehouse solutions.

Building robust, production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.

Advising clients on data architecture, governance, and platform strategy.

Owning technical roadmaps and ensuring engineering quality across projects.

Collaborating with stakeholders from engineering teams to senior leadership.

Mentoring engineers and helping shape standards, best practices, and propositions.

🧠 What the successful Principal / Lead Data Engineer will need:

7+ years’ experience in data engineering.

Strong experience across Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse/Fabric, and the wider Azure ecosystem.

A strong foundation in data architecture, modelling, and governance.

Experience building production-ready pipelines and scalable data platforms.

Proficiency in Python and SQL.

Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments is highly beneficial.

Fluent Dutch.
